Registration for our event at the Wells Theater for the Virginia Stage Company's production of Pride and Prejudice is now open to those who are not members of the RSV.  Tickets have been going fast, however, we do have the option of increasing the number of tickets in our group.  So, if you attempt to register and discover that seats have been sold out, PLEASE JOIN THE WAITLIST.  We will not purchase additional tickets UNLESS we see that there is an interest and adding your name to the waitlist lets us know that you are interested!  Those on the waitlist will be contacted as soon as additional tickets are available.

We're encouraging those attending with us to wear period attire but it is not required.  Regardless of what era's attire you prefer, we hope that we will see you there on January 27!

We are excited to announce a new event: an evening at the historic Wells Theater to watch a stage adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.  The RSV has reserved a limited number of box seats and several orchestra seats for our members and friends at a rate that is discounted from the usual single-ticket price.  We encourage attendees to dress in period attire for the occasion (though it is not required).

RSV members will have first access to available tickets through November 15, at which point we will open registration up to others.  Even if you aren't able to secure box seats (or if you find that the orchestra seating is sold out), we encourage you to add your name to the ORCHESTRA SEATING WAITLIST.  The Theater has said that we have an option to purchase additional tickets at the discounted rate and we are happy to do so if we have enough interest.  Another advantage to purchasing orchestra tickets: should a box seat become available, we will attempt to fill it by contacting those who have purchased orchestra seats first (in order of registration).  You also have the option of adding yourself to the box seat waitlist, however, we will only contact those on the box seat waitlist after available box seating has been declined by everyone who has committed to being at the performance by purchasing orchestra seats.  You can register and purchase your tickets by clicking here.

UPDATE 10/24/17:  While we only just posted this event last night, we have already sold 16 of our available 18 box seats!  Orchestra seating is still wide open, however, and we would love to see a theater filled with RSVers!

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Victory Ball this year another amazing evening!  If you weren't able to attend (or simply want to relive the experience!) be sure to check out our photo album on Facebook.  (You don't have to have a Facebook account to see the pictures.)

Also, for those of you who captured pictures and/or video and would be willing to share them with us, please let us know by sending us a private message on Facebook or e-mailing us at info@varegency.org.  We would really appreciate it!

The Regency Society of Virginia now has membership cards!  If you're a current member, you can access yours immediately by logging in and viewing your profile.  This card can be viewed and shown on a smartphone as well, so you can show it to RSV Member-Friendly Merchants to verify your active membership status.  (And, if you just want to feel "official" you're welcome to print it out, too.)

We're looking forward to seeing our "card-carrying" members at upcoming events!

Today is the last day that you can purchase tickets to join us for the Victory Ball next Saturday, October 21!  There won't be any ticket sales at the door, so be certain to get your registration in by midnight to save your spot.

You ticket will include an evening of live music and period dance, a delicious array of hors d'oeuvres, and a pre-ball practice session so that you can "warm up" for the main event in the evening.  The dance practice will begin at 1pm and will take place in the ballroom of the Country Club of Petersburg.

We look forward to seeing you there!

If you've been putting off registering for the Victory Ball, we offer a reason to make sure that you don't miss an evening of Regency elegance: complete your registration by 11:59PM EST on Monday, October 9 and you will be entered in a random drawing for a FREE ticket!  Everyone who has fully paid for their registration up to that date will be entered so if you've already reserved your spot with us, you're not going to be left out of the running.  The winner may either request a refund for a single ticket already purchased or ask that they receive one additional ticket.  All you have to do is make sure that you get your registration in to be entered!

And if you still can't help but procrastinate, we'll be taking registrations for the ball through October 14 even though there won't be a chance at that additional ticket.

We look forward to seeing you at the ball on October 21 and good luck!

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Country Inn and Suites of Petersburg for those attending the ball.  The hotel is approximately three miles from the Country Club of Petersburg where we will be holding the ball.  You will be able to choose between a single King room ($90/night plus taxes) or a two-Queen bed suite ($110/night plus taxes).  If you would like to take advantage of the room block, please call the hotel directly at (804) 861-4355 no later than October 5 and request the "Victory Ball" rate.

If you plan on attending the Autumnal Picnic at the Francis Land House on September 9, please be aware that today is the last day that you can register for it.  Only those who register by the end of September 1 will have a tour of the c. 1805 house included.  You may still attend the picnic, of course, but you will be required to pay the museum admission fee in order to tour the home's interior.  (If you do miss the registration deadline, please e-mail us at info@varegency.org so that we will have a good handle on how many to anticipate will be in attendance.)
