A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported this year's Victory Ball! We were delighted to welcome fellow Regency Era enthusiasts from all over the country and our turnout this year was among the highest in the ball's history!
This year's ball featured an optional plated dinner beforehand. It had such rave reviews from the attendees, it will likely become a permanent part of the event. After guests had enjoyed a hearty meal, all were welcomed into the ballroom to be entertained by the musical talents of Mr. Dean Herington and Ms. Mara Shea as well as led in the figures by our dancing master extraordinaire, Mr. Charles Steplively. Even when it seemed there might be tension on the dancefloor ("Sir! She is MY partner!"/"Sir! She's my WIFE!"), all was amicably resolved and none but joyful noises could be heard amongst the company.
Our door prize raffle was particularly popular, too, with a fine selection of prizes including donations from Shocking Bad Hats and CivilWarLady.net. You may gauge the high spirits among the company when you hear that one very lucky lady managed to have her ticket numbers drawn not once but THREE times yet settled for one prize alone, generously urging that another winner be drawn after that.
Many thanks to all the members who gave of their time to plan, set up, and clean up, too, so that the event would be the success that it was.
