We're looking for volunteers to assist at the Napoleonic Weekend at Old Bedford Village in Pennsylvania.  Reenactors from both sides of the Napoleonic conflict will be in attendance and we are looking to enhance the programming which discusses civilian life at the time.

Wondering what you might be able to do?  Here are some of the ways you might be able to help out:
  • Costumed visitor - Provide ambiance by attending in period attire.  While you won't have any responsibilities and may attend the planned dance at the end of Saturday evening, you will be required to pay the admission fee to Old Bedford Village each day that you attend.
  • Orientation Tent Volunteer - Help visitors by providing information specific to the event after they have paid their admission at the visitor center.  We will need helpers to pass out scavenger hunt sheets to the children attending and give them their "prizes" once they have completed their scavenger hunt.
  • Fashion show participant - Give visitors an idea of how people dressed during the Napoleonic period.  We are seeking men, women, and children, and examples of working class dress as well as more fashionable attire.  Please let us know what sort of clothing you would be willing to provide and model.
  • Tea Hostess - We are hoping to have a tea for the female reenactors at the event.  Are you willing to act as a hostess at one of our tables?  Please let us know!
  • Program Presenter - Have you done research on an interesting early 19th century topic and would be interested in providing a program about it?  Let us know!
  • Vendor - Are you a purveyor of period goods who would like to sell to an eager market?  We'd love to have you!  There is also a good possibility of the Village being able to let sutlers "set up shop" in one of their buildings onsite.
  • Demonstrate a trade - If you practice a period trade or craft, we'd love to give you a space to demonstrate it during the event!
You are also welcome to share any other idea you may have that would be suitable for our Napoleonic Weekend!

If you are interested in attending, please be sure to register by June 1.
