Biography
I've been a history buff since I was a kid. My degree is in history, specializing in American History, and I have always had a particular interest in the 19th century. It was during college that I first began reenacting (although it was with an American Civil War group). I met Will at the 130th Anniversary reenactment of Gettysburg but we didn't start dating until after our next event. After we had our son, reenacting dropped off the radar for a while and we had just started to consider getting back into it when our daughter came along. While Jane Austen has always been a favorite author of mine and I could never resist a good period drama, my love for the early 19th century actually came by way of
Horatio Hornblower. With Will and several other friends, I became one of the founding members of the Regency Society of Virginia after a Regency style ball that I was helping with fell through. I was heartily disappointed about the cancellation at the time, but so very glad that it didn't go forward as I would have lost out on so many of the friendships I now have thanks to this group.
